1926 a man named Fidel Castro was born here. His parents were Angel Castro
and Lina Ruz. Their graves are on the premises. |

south of Cueto. To get to Finca las Manacas take the turnoff seven
kilometer west of Cueto. Follow the road for another 7 kilometer to the
sugar mill "Central Loynaz Hechevarria". From there a road to
the east will bring you after another 7 kilometer to Biran. Ask around
for the last three kilometer (it's a turn to the left) to Finca Las
Manacas. In 2001 they were renovating the ranch completely and you were
not allowed to enter the complex. According to some officials you could
visit the ranch again from December 2001. |
