Trinidad
is an interesting place to have a stop. During the sixties in the nearby Sierra (valley) de
Escambray the USA have supported anti-Cuban forces to overthrow the
Fidel Castro government. The "Museo Nacional de la Lucha Contra Bandidos"
tells the story. There is also a "Casa de los Martires de Trinidad"
and on the road to Cienfuegos there is a monument to a teacher who was
murdered by the counterrevolutionaries. |

The
Museo Camilo Cienfuegos in Yaguajay is a very impressive
monument to the Cuban hero Camilo Ciefuegos. You can't miss this one. Beneath the monument is a
museum dedicated to the achievements of Camilo. The most beautiful piece
in the museum is the stuffed horse on which Camilo entered Havana after
the Cuban Revolutution. |
