Cuba, El Uvero

El Uvero is a small village along the way from
Niquero to Santiago de Cuba. The village is famous for the "The
battle of El Uvero". Of course their is a Plaza de la Revolucion as
well.

From
their base in the Sierra Maestra Fidel Castro and his Revolutionaries
attacked 53 Batista soldiers here on May 28, 1957 and they won again
after their battle at la Plata. A monument has been erected along the
way between El Uvero and Santiago de Cuba.
