| Sculptor,
Labor Hero, People’s Artist Born in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province,
China, on July 14,1937. A graduate in sculpture of the Pyongyang
University of Fine Arts in 1959. Served as a sculptor for about 40
years. He created the Chollima Statue and many other grand monuments. He
has shown fine skills in the formation of ensemble for monuments and the
creation of sculptural groups. In the creation of individual sculptures
his works are emotional and meditative yet simple in the expression and
give familiar feelings. His representative works are” I can see the
Victory in the Revolution”, a prize winner at the national art
exhibition and” A Woman by the Lake”, a prize winner at the
international sculpture Contest in Poland. |
