Hyangsan is a modern town which has become a recreation centre for famous
Mt. Myohyang. It is near the Chongchon River. The town's architectural
style is unique. The roofs of the buildings, such as schools, hospitals,
hotels, shops and houses, are in the traditional style. The brown and
blue tiles of 2-3-storeyed buildings are attractive. Its industries
produce medical instruments and souvenirs. There are more than 10
factories, including the Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory. The
Chongchon River, which has a barrage, offers good places for recreation.
The International Friendship Exhibition stands by the Myohyang Stream.
It is a monumental building which demonstrates the acme of our
traditional architecture. In Hyangsan there are many historic relics and
sufficient welfare establishments, including the Hyangsan Hotel, for
tourists.
