The
great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung provides on-the-spot guidance to the
Chongsan Cooperative Farm. |
Chongsan-ri in Kangso District, Nampho City, is widely known to the
Korean people, for the great leader Comrade Kim II Sung created the
Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method, the method of mass leadership
of the Workers' Party of Korea, there. The great leader visited
Chongsan-ri on February 5, Juche 49 (1960). He
had many visits to Chongsan-ri from long ago. But on that day he visited there again with a great
plan. In those days the socialist production relations held
undivided sway in Korea. This urgently required the improvement of the
work system of Party, state and economic organizations and
functionaries' methods and style of work on the basis of the new
circumstances with the purpose of powerfully mobilizing the broad
masses to the building of socialism.
The great leader, who perceived this requirement of the developing
revolution, put forward a policy of improving the work system of
Party, state and economic organizations and the methods and style of
work of functionaries to suit the new circumstances and visited
Chongsan-ri with a plan to initiate the new system and method of work
and generalize them throughout the Party and country. Having forced
his way through virgin snow in cold winter, he entered the village and
visited the farmers first. In a farmer's home he looked round hen- and
rabbit-houses and a pigsty and aquainted himself with the family's
living conditions asking such detailed questions as how many family
members he had and how many work-days and how much distribution he
received. Next he visited the house of a woman workteam leader. He
learnt about their living conditions and discussed with them the work
of the cooperative, instilling revolutionary zeal in them. This
happened when he guided a conference of Party membership in the
office room of the ri Party organization. He sat knee to knee with
Party members and recognized an old woman whom he had met and talked
with at a well in the village ten years before and told her to live
long and bring up her daughter well to study at university. And then
he entered into a conference. The Party members opened their hearts
and told everything to him who guided the conference without
formality. The great leader inquired about the personal work and
life of each one of them teaching them how they had to work and
live. Those Party members who attended that conference said that they
had never felt the pangs of conscience as they did at that time.
In the lofty traits of the great leader who made the whole village seeth
with revolutionary enthusiasm while visiting farmers' homes and
talking with farmers, those functionaries, who accompanied him, deeply
realized that their previous methods of work that they called at
offices first and studied the actual conditions there when they went
down to lower units were very formalistic and obsolete. The great
leader stayed in Chongsan-ri for a fortnight in order to grasp more
deeply the actual conditions of the lower units and find the correct
solutions to the raised problems. In those days, he shared board and
room with farmers, called at their homes, had many consultative
meetings, individual talks and discussion meetings with them. And he
put forward the problems he had planned and held serious discussions.
In addition, he made a speech under the theme For Correct Management
of Socialist Agriculture at a general membership meeting of the Party
organization of Chongsan-ri clearly showing the path Chongsan-ri
should take. During his on-the-spot guidance to Chongsan-ri he got an
understanding of the work of many units including Party and state
organizations in Kangso County which were linked with the work of
Chongsan-ri and showed the way of establishing the new system of
work whereby the higher body helps the lower and of decisively
improving the work methods of functionaries. The Chongsan-ri people
who received the guidance and instructions of the great leader come
out as one in carrying out Party policies, saying that the path they
had to take was clear as they had absorbed the great leader's
teachings. Like this, during his on the spot guidance to Chong-ri,
which was run through with seasoned political work, work with people,
the great leader created, through his practical practical example, the
revolutionary system, method and style of work, an all-round
embodiment of the principle of the Juche idea that man is the master
of everything and decides everything and the revolutionary mass line
that one believes in the strength of the masses and relies on them in
solving all problems. They have been called the Chongsan-ri spirit and
Chongsan-ri method by our people. Thus the Chongsan-ri spirit and
Chongsan-ri method came into being-the Chongsan-ri spirit which is an
idea of popular leadership of strengthening the motive force of the
revolution and increasing its role in every way and the Chongsan-ri
method which is a method of popular leadership that the higher body
helps the lower, and the superior assists those under him and always
goes down to the workplaces in order to have a good grasp of actual
conditions and find correct solutions to problems, gives priority to
political work, work with people, in all undertakings and enlists the
conscious enthusiasm and initiative of the masses so as to ensure the
fulfilment of revolutionary tasks. Even after his guidance work in
historic February, the great leader visited Chongsan-ri scores of
times and turned it into a modern socialist countryside which the
whole country learns after, while giving minute guidance to and
showing benevolent solicitude for it. The Chongsan-ri spirit and
Chongsan-ri method have brilliantly been applied to all domains across
the country, bringing about a great change in socialist construction.
In order to glorify forever the undying feats of the great leader, our
people erected his statue in Chongsan-ri last year. Today, the
Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method are being adopted thoroughly
as a way of popular leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea under
the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong II. The irrigation
system is established in paddy and dry fields.
